Spring Cleaning

After the dreadful winter we endured it is refreshing to be able to get the kennels looking something like they should be.
I like to paint all the huts, kennels etc every year in order to preserve their life as well as keeping the place looking fresh and tidy, due to my family problems last year and the non stop rain, I never got round to doing this, the last week though has seen me make up for this with non stop painting and general tidying up, I have also become quite an accomplished gardener and must say it is looking spot on, no doubt I have let myself in for trouble.
I am in the middle of this months Video shoots and must apologise for the delay as the original one boomed out on me, I am however putting together something that should allow you to picture what surroundings I am living in, here is the River Whiteadder which is minutes from the kennels, this is great for trout and salmon fishing.

scenery

In the kennels I must say that I am very very happy with all the pups and how they all look, collectively they must go down as the nicest bunch of pups I have had at any given time, this includes the Jazz Hurricane and Millies Award pups that recently left, if looks win races then I will have a storming 2010.
Talking of Millies Award, I hear that 2 of her March 07 pups to Ballymac Maeve have instantly went well at The schooling track, to the point where an offer was made for the dog first time around the track, fingers crossed they go in the right direction, Millies Premier Fantasy pups are Big boned and got a lovely temperament .

Jazz Hurricanes pups to Westmead Hawk are doing grand and very very lively, the older Hawk pups here are the noisiest pups I have ever had but I don’t see that as a bad thing as it shows they at least have life.
Monday is going to very tough as it is a year to the day that I lost my mum and I have sponsored a race at Nottingham in her name and myself and my father shall be popping down, I must say that Dave Baldwin has been first class in looking after me and I can safely say that it will not be my last time sponsoring at Nottingham, it really is refreshing to see both Nottingham and Wimbledon go out of their way to look after sponsors.
Recent winners include Lenn Swartz, Bellpac Philly and Andreas Quest at Newcastle, The Last Baby(Twice) and Regale Savana at Hove, Shimano Sumo at Henlow, Opening Quest at Wimbledon and Bonjour Paula and Oxford Don at Nottingham.

This brings the kennel winners to 710 which I am very proud of, yes it may not be 710 Top Class winners but each and every winner means alot to me and heres hoping there are many many more to come.
In closing I would like to Thank everyone for visiting my website and I hope that between myself and Dave(Website designer) that we are providing what you want to see and PLEASE do not be afraid to let us know if there is anything that you would like to see, if it is possible then it can happen.

Shelbourne/Wimbledon/Shawfield

A good idea from Andy Reid was to include Shawfield in the comparisons photo, we now have all the tracks that host a Derby, the outcome appears to be that Shelbourne has bigger bends and bigger straights than both Shawfield and Wimbledon.
Shawfield has much longer straights than Wimbledon but its bends are markedly tighter than the London circuit. With this arial view it is plain to see why some dogs are suited to certain tracks than other. College Causeway types for Shelbourne and the Fear Zafonics for Wimbledon maybe.

Shelbourne v Wimbledon

Seeing as the English Derby is getting nearer and already there is a lot of debate between which dogs are the best, English or Irish, which is the better running track Shelbourne or Wimbledon i have had a picture done of both tracks.
Taken from Google Earth at an altitude of 260m, I have cut out the Wimbledon track circumfrence, coloured it blue and superimposed onto the Shelbourne track image. The difference becomes extremely obvious in terms of size of track and angles of bends....very interesting.

Ticking Over

I just said goodbye to Jazz Hurricanes Kewell pups last Sunday, they have went to Ockendon schooling complex where I am sure Tom Prenderville will do a sterling job, I really like the look of these pups and pray to god that they are decent for their owners.

1 Of Millies Awards pups went on her travels to Sweden last week, Frida, the pups new owner, is owning a greyhound for the very first time, I know shes very excited at bringing the pup up and I sincerely wish her all the best, perhaps later down the line we can get a little journal from Frida.
All the other pups here are doing very well and I especially like the Westmead Hawk pups, they are very very firey and have an abundance of energy and at this stage I could not be any happier with them.

My weekly advert in The Racing Post is doing its job nicely with weekly enquires over Final Rose, as well as others, my first choice sire when Rose drops in season is Larkhill Jo followed by Droopys Maldini, I have also decided that Ballymac Maeve shall be the sire for Baby Marge when she breaks in season.
My upcoming Charity night is beginning to take shape, still 3 Race sponsors short and numerous Dog sponsors left but i’m sure it will all be pulled together come 11th July.

Recent winners on the track include Sugar Fix, Ashbys Hawk, Smoking John and Ebony Chaser twice at Hove, Good To Go at Wimbledon, Lenn Trois, Bellpac Philly and Andreas Quest at Newcastle, Shimano Cypo at Henlow, Questhouse Katie at Pelaw Grange, Bluechip Me at Oxford, Pendle Whojo, Quest Daily Dogs and Bonnie Ben at Crayford, Dickos Mark at Sheffield and Pretty Mentor twice at Romford.
