Thank you for your support in helping improve Charlotte's young life.

On reading a Newspaper recently I came across a story that really got to me, to the point that I just had to make contact with the family to see if I could help in anyway.
Well I am glad that I did as it seems that Help is exactly what is required; let me explain what I am talking about....

The story in question was about a little girl named Charlotte Nott, Charlotte is 3 years old and just before Christmas last year she was struck down with meningitis and in order to save her life she had to have both legs and arms removed, brief story can be read here,
Charlottes Story.

Charlottes mum Jenny has nothing but the upmost praise for the NHS for the care and attention they have given to her daughter and for giving Charlotte a pair of prosthetic legs, sadly the legs provided are proving to be very heavy for the 3 year old and is leading to Charlotte dragging her legs along the floor, it goes without saying that any parent would want the best for their kids and Jenny is certainly no different.
I asked all manner of questions as to what is available for Charlotte, what would benefit her greatly and any routine follow ups, answers were given honestly and I told Jenny that I would see what I could do but that I would not make any promises as to the final outcome, obviously I know what I would like to see and thus I shall have a target to aim for, if we can make it then great, if we do not make it then every little bit helps and IF we were to surpass the target, then that would be absolutely brilliant as it would go to help Charlotte in the future.

Due to the weight of Charlotte’s current prosthetic legs, I feel, as does Jenny, that the sooner we can get Charlotte more advanced and lighter prosthetic legs the easier it will be for her to enjoy a higher quality of life. The cost involved is down to individual requirements (Size etc) but the ball park figure given to Jenny was in the region of £7,000, there would also be a certain amount of Physiotherapy treatments required, because of this I want to set the initial target to raise at £10,000, this will allow the purchase of new lighter legs and the important physiotherapy with the specialists that would be supplying Charlotte’s new legs.

When I mention that any surplus funds could be used to help Charlotte in the future, this is because as she grows she will require new legs, most likely every year, this may seem like a never ending cash cow but poor Charlotte never asked to get meningitis, who knows we may even be able to help with a set of Prosthetic arms!
I am sure with a little bit, from many people; we can help make her life as near normal as it can ever be with 4 missing limbs.

I ask everyone to try give up something, please do not ever think that any amount is not enough as it is amazing how much can be raised with many small donations, I plan to try put on a few events that will hopefully raise a good few pounds as well.

In closing I would like to thank you for reading this and if you could direct people towards this as the more people knowing the better.

Regards
Dave Wood
